Allen Bradley 1734-AENT/A Ethernet Network Adaptor

The Allen-Bradley 1734-AENT/A is a POINT I/O Ethernet/IP communication adapter. This module belongs to the 1734 POINT I/O product family, enabling a POINT I/O rack to exchange real-time I/O data with a host controller over an Ethernet/IP network. It interfaces with POINT I/O modules and supports the transmission of both I/O data and diagnostic information.

It is specifically designed to address network communication challenges between PLCs and field I/O devices within industrial automation systems, and is commonly deployed in industrial automation environments.

The module features a built-in Ethernet communication port utilizing an RJ45 physical interface. This port supports data transmission rates of 10/100 Mbps and can operate in either half-duplex or full-duplex mode. It includes an auto-negotiation function, eliminating the need for manual configuration of the module's transmission speed. The 1734-AENT/A module is suitable for connecting POINT I/O racks configured in star or tree topologies. It utilizes Category 5 cabling—available in shielded or unshielded variants—terminated with RJ45 connectors at both ends. The 1734-AENT/A module is equipped with LED status indicators to monitor the module's operational status and assist in diagnostics should a fault occur. These indicators include three red/green status LEDs located on the CPU section, which respectively display the status of the module, the network, and the POINTBus.
