Schneider C164TM160D Thermomagnetic trip unit

The TM160DC is a four-pole thermal-magnetic trip unit for the ComPacT NSX 160DC circuit breaker. This 160A rated thermal-magnetic trip unit is ideal for all power distribution applications. It features integrated adjustable thermal overload protection and fixed magnetic short-circuit protection. The rated current is 160A, and the operating voltage is 750VDC. This product complies with international standards (IEC 60947), CCC, EAC, and marine specifications.

Compared to traditional trip units, the Schneider thermal-magnetic trip unit offers two protection mechanisms. The first is thermal protection: the heat generated by current passing through a metal strip triggers a physical trip. When the current consistently exceeds the safe limit, the heated metal strip bends, pushing the internal mechanism to trip the circuit breaker. The second is magnetic protection: in the event of a short circuit, the coil generates a strong magnetic force that immediately triggers the tripping device, causing the circuit breaker to trip rapidly. It provides overload protection, short-circuit protection, and protection for motors, cables, and power distribution lines, preventing equipment damage or electrical fires.
