The Allen-Bradley 1788-ENBT is an Ethernet/IP daughtercard specifically designed for installation on FlexLogix controllers. It addresses the critical limitation of controllers being unable to connect to Ethernet/IP networks, finding application in scenarios such as the Ethernet interconnection of PLCs and network modules.

The Allen-Bradley 1788-ENBT is an Ethernet I/P communication module. This electronic card is specifically called an Ethernet I/P daughtercard that fits directly to a assigned slot of a FlexLogix controller. The 1788-ENBT has One (1) RJ45 physical port that supports interfacing to Ethernet I/P networks with transmission speed of 10 Mbps / 100 Mbps in half or full-duplex modes.

The 1788-ENBT has a small form factor. It is powered through the backplane and requires 5V dc @ 465mA with Power consumption of 5 V dc, 2.33W and thermal dissipation of 8.0 BTU/hr. It has an isolated voltage rating of 500V ac for 60 seconds.

The 1788-ENBT has supports direct connection or interfacing via a standard Ethernet switches. It has simple cable requirements thus, no cable scheduling and routing is needed. This communication port supports communication with Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), converters, and gateways. It may also be utilized in sending and receiving messages to and from controllers in the network.

The 1788-ENBT is equipped with status LED indicators used for indicating the Network status, Link status and Utilization percent indicator.

The 1788-ENBT does not support removal and installation under power (RIUP). When installing this module, ensure that the FlexLogix controller is without power.

The daughtercard has Four (4) status LEDs such as link status LED, module status LED, the network status LED, and utilization percent LED. The 1788-ENBT has One (1) RJ45 port used for Ethernet interface. Before installing the daughtercard, ensure that the power is disconnected to avoid electrical arcs.
